Crestwood Park Primary school opened in January 1973 as a purpose built, semi open plan school, catering for children of the ages five to twelve.

The pleasant buildings consist of Hall, Classrooms, Practical Area, Library, Offices, Computer Suites and Kitchens, and stands alone in it's own grounds with ample play areas.   The school is situated on the end of the Crestwood Park Estate and caters for the primary education of the majority of its residents, as well as the needs of the wider community.

The Schools General Aims

We aim to present a model of a caring establishment where our children:

  • Learn to value, not only themselves, but each other, the environment and the community at large.
  • Develop a lively, enquiring mind and therefore have the ability to question and debate rationally.
  • Acquire self-discipline in order to apply themselves to academic tasks and physical skills.
  • Gain knowledge and skills to help equip them for adult life.
  • Appreciate human achievements and aspirations, admire excellence in all things and strive to achieve such excellence.
  • Develop a respect for religious, spiritual, and moral values and tolerance and understanding of other races, cultures and religions.
  • Reach their full potential both personally and academically.

The development to the full of each and every child as a knowledgeable, skilled, caring and well-adjusted person is their right and our duty.

The Parents Aims For The School

These aims were written in consultation with our parents.

  • To be welcoming and have a happy and caring atmosphere.
  • To be an extension of the family.
  • Children knowing right from wrong and where discipline is firm but fair.
  • To bring out the best in every child.
  • To give the children the values of honesty, courtesy and consideration for others.
  • For parents to be given time when they have a concern and to have access to the staff discuss those concerns.
  • To be able to mix socially, build relationships, communicate with each other and adults, and to accept people for what they are.
  • Above all, give the children confidence
